About the Artist:
Amaris Gonzales (b. 2002) is a Hispanic photographer who lives and works in Wichita Falls, Texas. She is originally from Dilley, Texas and previously lived and worked in Fort Worth, Texas She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography at Texas Christian University, in December 2023. Gonzales has been included in various exhibitions, including the Society of Artists and Art Educators Exhibition at Moudy Gallery in Fort Worth, Texas, the Society for Photographic Education-South Central (SPE-SC) Juried Student Exhibition at Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City, Louisiana, and SPE-SC/South East Juried Student Exhibition at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, as well as many others in the Fort Worth Area. Gonzales was honored with the Samuel P. Ziegler Scholarship of Art in 2022. Gonzales’ artwork explores her family, culture, and personal experiences during her youth.
