C. “glen” cummings

C. "Glen" Cummings has enjoyed creating since in his teens. He joined the Navy at 17 where he trained as a dental lab technician and learned to sculpt teeth from wax and porcelain. He gained an understanding of color from staining porcelain crowns to match the shade and characteristics of existing teeth. During his time in the Navy, he visited several countries and gained an education in cultural diversity and a greater appreciation for art. Since retiring from Sheppard AFB as a dental lab instructor, Cummings was hired as a digital dental designer(AKA CAD/CAM). Cummings developed his unique style by embracing the natural texture of wood, combining 3D CNC wood carvings and color. Cummings credits his artistic ability to his years as a dental lab technician. It’s kind of like “The Karate Kid”. “Wax on. Wax off”. He didn’t realize that he was honing his art skills all of these years until he tried painting about a year ago.
