Jessica B. Johnson is a teaching artist in North Texas with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Midwestern State University. She is currently a high school art teacher at Hirschi highschool. Jessica primarily focuses on capturing portraits in various media such as pencil, charcoal, watercolor, and acrylic paint. She devotes her time teaching art to youth in her community, encouraging youth to express their feelings through art and to have an open mind to the creative process.
Through this body of work Jessica wishes to portray the balance of life. Life is not always about the things you endure in your past but what determines it is what you take from it and build on to find value in your future. Jessica’s work conveys how she sees the world through her eyes portraying beauty, strength, and self-love.
