Los Muertos is a joint production between the friends of 9th Street Studios and Potencia Projects. Each year we have connected with additional community partners, and worked with local artists to create new visual features.

This year we took special interest in instituting protocols to facilitate a safe and healthy experience, while still creating the feeling of community and bonding.

We hosted two public workshops prior to the event. The ever popular “anatomy of an ofrenda” workshop and a Mexican Folk Art appreciation class and Cartoneria Animal workshop.

We invited the public to create largescale papier mache alebrijes for the Procession to the Altars, inspired by the work of a specific Mexican Artist. After the festival all of the Alebrijes were sent to the Wichita Falls Public Library for continued display.
